FallYogaPoseIf you are curious but not sure you are ready to make a commitment to the practice of yoga, we’ve got you covered! Try a Beginners or a Gentle yoga class for free! Either of these class is a perfect place to start. They will give you a taste of yoga and leave you wanting more!

New Beginner Students often feel intimated when starting yoga. I know I did! I remember feeling self-conscious because I couldn’t touch my toes. I honestly imagined a room full of really skinny people in weird poses twisted up to look like trees while making strange noises. But of course, I discovered that Yoga is much more than touching your toes or twisting about – or making strange noises. There really is nothing to be nervous about! I’ve designed classes to help New Beginner Students build confidence and a solid practice. You will feel at home in no time!

The Sanskrit word, Yoga, means to yoke or to unite. Yoga was cognized thousands of years ago in India. It is a practice based on harmoniously uniting the body, mind, and spirit. Yoga is a tool to help you be present in your body and life. The ultimate goal of Yoga is self-development.

All students are asked to complete a new student form before their first class. So please arrive at least 15 minutes prior to class.

Helpful Tips:

Here are some tips that will help you to get the most out of your yoga class and also allow your neighbors to enjoy theirs.

  • To allow everyone to reap the benefits of Yoga, the Doors are locked a few minutes before class starts. Being late can disrupt the whole class. So please try to arrive at least 10 minutes before class begins; 15 minutes if it’s your first class. Enter the yoga room silently. Many students use the time before and after class for quiet meditation.
  • Bring a Mat and water bottle. Bring a hand towel if needed.
  • Props (blocks, straps, and bolsters) are provided for all classes. Rental mats ($2) and bottled water ($2) are also available. Owning your own mat is strongly encouraged.
  • Wear comfortable clothes that allow you to move freely (not overly baggy).
  • Store shoes and personal items in a cubby.
  • Turn Cell Phones off.
  • Refrain from wearing perfume, cologne or strong scents of any kind.
  • Wipe down rental mats and hang in the storage room as you leave.
  • Remember to always listen to your body. It will always be your best teacher! If it doesn’t feel right – don’t do it!
